Misleading Statistics are at an all time high…

OK, the headline actually read ‘UK house prices hit a record [high] level’ but it may as well have said the above.  All very London centric I would suggest, as would the Land Registry data for Lancashire which is shown below.  Doesn’t look like an ‘all time high’ to me, but perhaps I’m missing something?Image

    Two things about this strike me as worrying: the first is, as you have said, that the statistics are incredibly London and Home Counties – centric – in common with almost everything else in the UK; the second is that this ridiculous situation is reported as though it were a good thing. How can it be a good thing that an ever-increasing proportion of our country’s population can no longer afford to live where they work?
